Carrie Underwood has come a long way since she first started in "American Idol" season 4. She has become one of the most successful winners of "AI" and a very successful country singer at that. Now that "AI" is cancelled, Underwood continues to be the star that she is and will make a performance this June. 

Grand Ole Opry confirmed via Twitter that Underwood will perform on June 9 to kick off the Country Music Awards Music Fest Week. On May 11, the tweet said, "JUST IN: @carrieunderwood will be joining us June 9 for two Tuesday Night Opry shows to kick off #CMAFest." 

Underwood was inducted to the Grand Ole Opry back in May 10, 2008. Country singer Garth Brooks inducted her and even game her a truckload of compliments that night. 

"But being around you five minutes, I know you get it. Coming from Oklahoma, I know you're sharp as a whip, of course. You will be rained with awards from the CMA, ACM, Grammys and all that stuff, [but] nothing will last as long or be more important than this award right here tonight. Congratulations," Brooks said. 

Underwood replied, "This [award] is gonna hold a very special place in my awards case... I promise that I'll do everything I possibly can to make you not regret it... It means a lot to me because it's the heart of country music, the church, the sacred place, the super-elite club that says you love this music." 

It is going to be one special night for Opry, Underwood ,and the fans come June 9. But before that happens, the singer is reaching out to the children of today with her new music video "Reaching Your Goal." In a tweet, she said "Never stop reaching your goals" and posted the video with it. 

Underwood has been very busy the past years and is now taking a breather to enjoy her time with her baby.
