3 things God does to those He loves

God's love is truly amazing. His love is not an abstract thought or idea; rather, it's a tangible thing that is evident in everything that He does for us and to us.

Because God loves us, He also does great things for us. He is our Father full of love for each and every one of us. And this love allows us to receive greater things from Him.

In this article we will talk about a few important things that God does to those He loves. Here are some of them.

1) He makes all things work for our good to make us more Christ-like

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren." (Romans 8:28-29)

Because God loves us, He wants to conform us to the image of His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. There's no greater honor than to be fashioned after Him who loved us and gave His life up for us.

2) He disciplines us as His sons

"And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:

"My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the Lord loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives."

If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons." (Hebrews 12:5-8)

God surely disciplines those whom He loves. It may not feel good when He does that, but it will surely produce the kind of fruit that He wants: Christ-like character.

God will discipline us using any and every thing that is necessary for His purposes to be fulfilled. He wants us on the straight path, not a crooked one.

3) He enables us to become more than conquerors

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:

"For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:35-39)

Because He loved us, He sent His only begotten Son to save us. Now that we are saved by His grace through faith in His Son, He has already taken us out of the dominion of darkness and into the kingdom of His dear Son.

And because we are now under the Lord's protection, we are assured victory in every circumstance. He has made us more than conquerors in Christ.
