Marvel's menacing supervillain, Mister Sinister, is confirmed to make an appearance in "Wolverine 3."

The confirmation came straight from "X-Men: Apocalypse" producer Simon Kinberg and filmmaker Bryan Singer during an audio commentary that came out with the digital release of the latest installment of the "X-Men" film series last Friday.

The two revealed that the scene towards the end of the 2016 superhero film is a preview of the upcoming "Wolverine" installment that is scheduled for release in 2017.

The scene that Kinberg and Singer were talking about featured a bloody crime scene at the Weapon X facility in Alkali Lake. The audience saw a man, who was let in by a guy in a suit and thick glasses, walking inside the facility. The man in glasses was seen grabbing a vial of blood that belongs to Logan, also known as Wolverine. Then he put the vial inside a briefcase with the label "Essex Corp." This means that the men are working for Nathaniel Essex, the alter ego of Mister Sinister.

However, both the movie producer and film director did not reveal who will portray the role of Mister Sinister in the upcoming film that will star Hugh Jackman in the titular role for the last time. But according to Cinema Blend, the role of Mister Sinister could fit the description of the mysterious "mad scientist" character of Richard E. Grant.

According to the report, the "Bram Stoker's Dracula" star signed up to portray a still unnamed role for "Wolverine 3" back in April. His role is only described as "a villainous mad scientist." Since Mister Sinister often come up with odd laboratory experiments in Marvel Comics, this could mean that the actor might be the one to take on the role of Wolverine's nemesis in the film.

Other confirmed cast members for "Wolverine 3" include Stephen Merchant, Elise Neal, Eriq La Salle, Boyd Holbrook, as well as Patrick Stewart, who will reprise his role as Charles Xavier in the next "X-men" installment.

"Wolverine 3" is scheduled to premiere on March 3, 2017.
