Vice President Mike Pence 'thinks Jesus tells him to say things' says former Trump staffer

The US Vice president Mike Pence 'thinks Jesus tells him to say things', according to a former official in the Donald Trump administration.

Omorosa Manigault Newman, who left Trump White House in December, said: 'I'm Christian, I love Jesus. But he thinks Jesus tells him to say things, and I'm like, "Jesus didn't say that." Scary.'

She also warned critics of Trump against impeachment, because it would lead to the 'extreme' Pence, an evangelical Christian, becoming president.

Starring on the American version of the reality TV show Big Brother, she told housemates: 'Can I just say this? As bad as y'all think Trump is, you would be worried about Pence...Everybody that's wishing for impeachment might want to reconsider their lives. You would be begging for the days of Trump back if Pence became president. He's extreme.'

Manigault Newman, the former White House director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison, also warned about the Trump administration's 'crackdowns' on immigrants.

She said: 'The crackdowns are happening and they're aggressive and they're intentional and they're about to get worse — but don't get me wrong, the Obama administration was aggressive on deportation, too.'

Although reports suggested that she was forced out of her job by chief-of-staff John Kelly, the 44-year-old said she always wanted to quit after a year of service.

A former contestant on Trump's The Apprentice show admitted she was left 'upset' by events she had seen in the Trump administration, suggesting those issues were race related, according to The Independent.

According to a recent profile of Pence in the New Yorker, Trump has joked that his Vice President 'wants to hang' all gay people.
