It has been two decades since the first "V Rally" racing game has been released for the original PlayStation. Now, it has been recently announced that the fourth game in the franchise, "V Rally 4," will be released later this year.
For the uninitiated, here's a brief history: the original "V Rally" was a hit with racing fans on the PSX. Some even claim that it has "revolutionized" the racing game genre. At the time, it had three game modes and a selection of cars and race tracks. It had two sequels, but unfortunately, both did not do as well as the first one.
Developers Bigben Interactive and Kylotonn Racing Games are attempting to give new life to the franchise with "V Rally 4." Of course, it is to be expected that the game will come with all the modern improvements that the current generation of gaming landscapes afford.
The teaser trailer shows that "V Rally 4" will bring more opportunities to race in the most exciting (and unusual) ways. This includes racing in asphalt, deserts, and even the dirt-ridden tracks of the forest.
The number of cars can be overwhelming, too, as there could be as much as 50 cars in the base game, and more are expected to be added in the future. Customization options also ensure that almost no two cars from one player are the same. Racers have the option to customize the components of their cars and upgrade each part if they so desire.
"V Rally 4" will come with its own single-player campaign that can be played offline. There is a multiplayer component, too, and racers can compete with their friends online.
"V Rally 4" is expected to be released in September of this year. It will be available for the PC, PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.
