One of the most popular gaming go-to titles in the modern-day world are, most often than not, puzzle-platformers. And this statement is in no way inaccurate as proven by hypnotically striking, visually compelling, and storyline-immersive titles such as "Monument Valley," "Ghost Adventures," "Evo Explores," "Limbo," which saw success in their original niches as well as in different platforms.
Another title, which aims to follow in the footsteps of its prosperous predecessors is Devolver Digital and Diceroll Studios' "Umiro" -- an action puzzler equipped that will take players on a new fantasy tale, something they have never experienced before.
According to the duo's announcement, the game will see a release on all aforementioned platforms late this month on March 29. Alongside this confirmation, the team-up of publisher Devolver Digital and Diceroll Studios also took players into the world of "Umiro" through a sneak preview that teases of what is to come for the highly anticipated game.
Graphic-wise, "Umiro" packs a powerful punch. Complete with colorful visuals and an aesthetic that has been likened to ustwo Game's highly-acclaimed title in the same genre "Monument Valley," surely players will be getting an eyeful of pleasant treats.
In terms of narrative, "Umiro" does not disappoint. Its unique storyline, a mix of well-known and novel elements, is just the perfect combination to keep users wanting for more. It is set in the monochromatic world of "Umiro," where protagonists Huey and Satura find themselves lost without a trace of any memories. The two soon go on a journey through labyrinths in order to reclaim their forgotten memories while, at the same time, bringing color back into the world.
Gameplay-wise, players will be taking control of these two's fate, advancing through labyrinth by way of solving puzzles using a unique drawing mechanic, which enables users to plan movements ahead.
Once it drops, "Umiro" will bring its colorful world into the following platforms: on the iOS, Android, and PC courtesy of Steam. It is currently available for pre-order on the iOS and is valued at $2.99.
