The production for "The Originals" season 4 is moving along quickly with episode 12, which also happens to be the penultimate episode of the season, already the focus of the writing team.
After finishing the first draft, Michelle Paradise, one of the writers of the supernatural drama, teased a bit of what the installment and the shortened season, in its entirety, will entail.
"A lot of awesome stuff happens in the pages before this... Blood is spilled, lips are kissed, vows are made, magic is done," the writer teased of "The Originals" season 4.
"In any event, there's action, there's dialogue, there are exciting act outs and then, at the end of it all, there's an even more exciting," she went on to say, leaving it hanging for fans to work out for themselves.
She also teased that the episode that sets up "The Originals" season 4 finale "celebrates diversity [and] love, and honors family [and] friendship even in dark times."
As what was teased before, the new season will be a bloody one as the Mikaelsons find a way to stop Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). Paradise, however, also hinted of romance.
This could have something to do with Marcel, who will work with a new vampire named Sofya (Taylor Cole). She is described as "a smart, badass" with skills that are highly sought after on the black market."
She is only loyal to herself, but she won't have an issue working with someone if the price is right. This will lead her teaming up with "the highest bidder," which is Marcel and a romance might flourish out of this as well.
As fans know, not only was the show moved to midseason by The CW, but also, for the first time in the history of the hit series, the next season will only have 13 episodes instead of the usual 22.
Because of this, fans can expect fast-paced storytelling and development, which means that each episode might be packed with action and drama.
"The Originals" season 4 premieres on Friday, Mar. 17, at 8 p.m. ET, a week after "The Vampire Diaries" airs its series finale.
