Naughty Dog has been quiet for the past few months about the ongoing development of the much-awaited game sequel, "The Last of Us Part 2." It is understandable that the game studio would keep major details regarding the new storyline and gameplay under wraps to avoid spoiling the title for fans. Still, some players are hoping to hear some new updates on the game, especially on the possible release date. As of now, the recent playtest of "The Last of Us Part 2," as revealed by the voice actors, is a good sign that the game is well on its way.

There have only been a few updates shared by Naughty Dog to the public regarding "The Last of Us Part 2," and most important report so far is about the game being 60 percent completed. Based on this number, it should be expected that the game will take another full year to be released, forbidding any issues in the future that may affect the schedule.

Meanwhile, Comic Book has reported the appearance of "The Last of Us Part 2" voice actors Troy Baker and Nolan North gave a presentation at the MCM Comic Con 2018 in Birminham, England, wherein the two has shared a new update on the game.

The MCM Comic Con this year was not supposed to showcase "The Last of Us Part 2," but Baker and Nolan's presence has led the participants to ask questions concerning the sequel. Baker, who plays Joel in the original title, has revealed Naughty Dog's recent playtest for "The Last of Us Part 2." The playtest is like an official first look at the actual gameplay, and according to Baker, the fans can expect an "awesome" sequel.

"It's a fantastic story. It's a fantastic game. We just finished a playtest. It's looking awesome. I can't for it to be on shelves." Baker said during the MCM Comic Con presentation. Some fans may argue that Baker's statement is biased towards Naughty Dog, given that he is one of the voice talents of the studio's upcoming video game. Nevertheless, Baker mentioning about the playtest is a positive sign that everything is going well in the game's production.

"The Last of Us Part 2" will serve as the sequel to Naughty Dog's 2013 survival-horror video game, which enjoyed a big commercial and critical success. Per the latest reports, "TLOU2" will pick up five years after the events of the first game, featuring the return of the lead protagonists, Ellie and Joel. It is expected that the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2018 this June will feature big scoops about the upcoming game.
