The survival horror game, "The Evil Within 2" is looking to impact the world in a positive way. The game's developers Tango Games and publishers Bethesda Softworks have decided to raise some money via the crowd funding program, CrowdRise, for the purpose of supporting the American Red Cross' global relief operations. The fundraising program has been dubbed as "The Good Within" program.
In a report by Gamespot, the target amount that the program aims for is $15,000. Those who would want to contribute to the cause will be able to choose whether to give their donations directly to Red Cross itself, or to specific victims such as those who suffered from last month's Hurricane Irma. Promotions have been directed by Bethesda Softworks towards video game streamers, which is an easy and effective means of marketing for the good cause.
According to Dual Shockers, the CrowdRise funding program will last for the entire month of October. By tapping video game streamers, the developers not only promote the cause, but also promote the highly-anticipated horror game. On top of that, Bethesda has also reached out to content creators as well. Bethesda Softworks is willing to match the target goal of up to $15,000. They are probably hoping that donations surpass the $15,000 figure.
Some of the popular streamers that Bethesda has contacted already have the game, and are playing it ahead of everyone else, according to Worth Playing. This way, fans can be granted a live early access of the game, which is why the marketing could potentially be very effective. Given the hype and popularity of "The Evil Within 2," anxious players will be inclined to watch these streams, and will be made aware of the crowd funding program.
Express UK has revealed how much space the game will be taking up across platforms. For the Xbox One, players will have about 31 GB of free space but will highly depend on which region the game is installed. For the PlayStation 4, players will need 33 GB, which is a little bit more compared to the Xbox One.
"The Evil Within 2" will be available on the PS4, the Xbox One, and the PC on Oct. 13.
