Last night's finale part 1 of "The Bachelorette" was full of surprises, with Desiree Hartsock getting dumped by Brooks Forrester.

The Bachelorette star was left visibly heartbroken by Forrester after admitting that she was falling in love with him. "Even though I'm falling in love with the other guys, I still have deeper feelings for Brooks," she said during the show. "I know that I am falling in love with him."

However, Forrester was having second thoughts when he traveled back home to Utah and told his family: "I love my relationship with Desiree and I keep wondering why it is that I'm not at the stage yet to say to Desiree, 'I love you.' The idea of proposing to her at the end of this makes me really uncomfortable."

In Antigua, where the cast of the reality show were gathered for Fantasy Suite Week, Forrester told host Chris Harrison, "I think I've come to a conclusion where I don't think that Des is the love of my life." He continued, "I gave it everything that I had and I love so many things about Desiree, but I'm not in love with her."

When Hartsock went to meet Forrester for a date, she immediately saw the glum look on his face and started crying. "I know what you're going to say." Then she asked him, "Who now?"

The 27-year-old was in tears, telling Forrester, "I love you, I do. You're the only one that I could say that to. It sucks because for once in my life I was hopeful. It just sucks that I loved you. I do love you, regardless."

The reality star later confessed that she can't love the other two finalists, Drew Kenney and Chris Siegfried, as much as she loved Brook Forrester. "This throws everything off, having Brooks gone," she said. "It breaks my heart. I just can't love [Drew and Chris] as much as they love me and that's not what they deserve. Honestly, for me it's over."

UPDATE: Desiree Hartsock tweets 'Happy Tears' - Does this mean that she got engaged after all?

The preview trailer shows Hartsock crying, telling Harrison that she just wants to go home. "I don't know where to start," she says.

The last part leads fans to speculate whether Desiree Hartsock will end up alone in next week's highly emotional grand finale of "The Bachelorette."

Tune in next week on Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC to find out what happens with a live studio audience.
