Noah (Dominic West) will meet a new love interest when "The Affair" returns for its third season.
Variety confirmed that critically acclaimed actress Irène Jacob has been tapped to portray a prominent recurring role for "The Affair" season 3.
According to the report, Jacob will play the role of Juliette Le Gall, a person who is described as "someone who is running from her own secrets and who helps Noah process a trauma from his past and understand himself a little better."
The French actress received the Best Actress award from the 1991 Cannes Film Festival Award and 1992 Cesar Award nomination for portraying the lead role of Veronique in the 1991 film "The Double Life of Veronique." Her acting credits include remarkable roles in "The Secret Garden," "U.S. Marshals," "Red," "Victory" and "Incognito."
The third season of "The Affair" will pick up three years after Noah surprisingly admitted his involvement in Scott Lockhart's (Colin Donnell) murder. According to reports, Noah will try to rebuild his life, but the effects of his admission will make it difficult for him.
The upcoming season will also see Noah's wife and former mistress Alison (Ruth Wilson) raising her daughter Joanie together with her ex-husband, Cole (Joshua Jackson) and his new fiancée, Luisa (Catalina Sandino Moreno). Noah's ex-wife, Helen (Maura Tierney), will face an uncertain fate with her new boyfriend named Vik (Omar Metwally) as well as her unstable relationship with her kids.
In an interview with Gold Derby, Tierney revealed that none of the characters will be in a good place next season.
"Nobody's in the clear in season three," Tierney said. "She doesn't know many details just yet. "Every season it's about the consequences of the choices made in the previous season, so it's going to be tricky for everyone in season three."
Showtime will air the premiere episode of "The Affair" season 3 on Nov. 20.
