The next patch update of "Star Wars Battlefront 2" is expected to roll out in the coming weeks. Patch 1.2 will bring some changes in the gameplay, as well as bug fixes and design improvements. Game developer DICE said that a new game mode, the Jetpack Cargo mode, will be one of the highlights of the upcoming patch update.

DICE has yet to announce the exact date of release of "Star Wars Battlefront 2" patch 1.2 on PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and PC platforms, although it seems that the said update is almost ready to launch. The developer has listed some of the contents of patch 1.2, headlined by the Jetpack Cargo mode. It is described by DICE as a "frantic, fast-paced" game mode wherein two teams of eight players will compete with each other.

All throughout the game, the players will use a jetpack to move around and fight their opponents. VG 24/7 compared the mechanics of the Jetpack Cargo mode with that of Capture the Flag, which is an already existing game mode in "Battlefront." The objective of each team is to be the first to obtain a neutral payload in the middle of the map, and whoever delivers the payload to the assigned area in the opponent's territory will be declared the winner.

The Jetpack Cargo game mode in "Star Wars Battlefront 2" patch 1.2 will only be around for a limited time upon its release. There is also a long-term change to be applied in the upcoming patch, which is the balancing of Heroes and Villains. DICE mentioned that the balance changes can be expected to almost everyone on the current roster. For now, the characters set to undergo adjustments are Boba Fett, Emperor Palpatine, Iden Versio, Bossk, Rey, Kylo Ren, Luke, Chewbacca, Yoda, Lando Calrissian, Darth Vader, and Captain Phasma. The extent of the changes is uncertain, although the players can expect that some features of these Heroes and Villains will be either nerfed down or boosted, in order to maintain a fair advantage for all during the game.

As with every other update in "Star Wars Battlefront 2," patch 1.2 will include important bug fixes and design changes to improve the gameplay quality. The patch will also introduce some tweaks in game performance and stability, as well as bug fixes to blaster and lightsaber glow.
