Upcoming survival game "SOS" is looking for 100 players to participate in a "Vets vs. Threats" event ahead of its beta testing.
"SOS" has been on alpha testing for a while, but it plans to kick off its beta testing with a bang. That is by pitting 100 veteran players against 100 up-and-coming participants, or the threats. All 200 of the world's top players will head to La Cuna Island to "compete for fame and fortune."
The veterans -- popular influencers from YouTube and Twitch -- have already been chosen, but the threats, not yet. Developer Outpost Games is looking for "the most entertaining personalities" to join the adventure.
They are currently holding a "competitive auditioning process," and yes, it will not be about skills, mainly because applicants cannot play the games yet; rather, it will be based on their personalities, how colorful they are, and how they can make the event more interesting.
"If you think you've got the guts, guile, and questionable moral compass to compete, submit your audition tape," the announcement says.
"SOS" is an upcoming survival game with an unusual twist. The game begins with 16 players sent to an island to recover and escape with an ancient relic. The hidden threats of the island are dangerous enough. But without teams, it will also be up to the players to make their own alliances. The thing is, the helicopter sent to make the pickup only has three seats. With that complication, even the best alliances can fall apart.
The "SOS: Vets vs Threats" event will run from Dec. 9 to 10, and will be streamed on Hero.tv. That will be "two days of scheming, strategizing, shooting, backstabbing, frontstabbing, and for a lucky few, surviving" until only two remain.
A separate closed beta testing will follow on Dec. 11 to 17. Interested players can sign up here.
