Bethesda Games Studios has released update 1.2 for the PC and PlayStation 4 version of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition" (Xbox One version coming this week), but it does not appear to resolve the crashes caused by update 1.1.

As far as the crashing issues go, the patch notes that come with update 1.2 only addresses those that happen when transforming from werewolf to human and when loading after changing load order of mods.

Other issues that the "Skyrim Special Edition" update takes care of include the ones related to using the alt-tab while playing on PC, the water flow not being rendered properly.

Update 1.2 also improves the general stability and performance of the remastered game as well as the mod-browsing experience.

As for the lingering crashing issue, players across all platforms found that after downloading update 1.1, "Skyrim Special Edition" crashes minutes after launching the game.

Some will find it difficult to make new saves with the issue, which means that their efforts of the players are put to waste when the bug strikes.

"Since this update downloaded and installed today I've had a lot of trouble with my game freezing and then force closing on PS4, has anyone else experienced the same? I'd probably put in about 30-40 hours prior to the update with the only issue I've encountered being the Dragon's Breath Mead not showing up. Also, I'm playing vanilla so there can't be any mods clashing with the update," one Reddit user complained, with another echoing the same, but on the Xbox One.

Bethesda is currently investigating the matter. However, there is no news as to when players can expect a solution to the aggravating issue.

A temporary workaround is yet to be discovered as well. That being said, "Skyrim Special Edition" players will have to be patient and wait for official word from Bethesda.
