Hindi actor has Sikhandar Kher landed a significant role in the sophomore season of "Sense8."
In a statement reported by Gulf News, the actor revealed that he will have a brief but memorable stint in the season 2 of the Netflix Original series.
"I was approached for the show a few months back. It's a small but an important role, and it takes the story ahead," Kher said.
Kher is known in Indian entertainment industry for starring in the 2008 movie "Woodstock Villa." He was also reportedly asked to star in the second season of the popular Indian TV series "24" by Anil Kapoor.
While the actor did not reveal more details about his role in "Sense8" season 2, speculations claim that he will become the show's new baddie. But the actor hopes that fans of the Netflix series will also get to enjoy the upcoming season as much as the first one.
"The first season of the show was a massive hit, and I hope season 2 also gets the same appreciation by the audience as season I did," he stated.
The filming for "Sense8" season 2 is still underway. Based on the show's Instagram account, the production is currently in Amsterdam, where Tina Desai's character Kala Dandekar was seen wearing a bathrobe.
In an interview with Buzzfeed back in May, Desai revealed that fans of the show will know more about her character aside from the love triangle that Kala was involved in with fellow sensate Wolfgang Bogdanow (Max Riemelt) and Rajan Rasal (Purab Kohli), whom she was arranged to marry.
"At the end of the season, we learned her contribution to the group is her scientific knowledge, and I was very excited about that — specifically because I get to say a whole lot of words I don't understand and jam needles into people," the actress said. "Going forward, she'll only be able to contribute more, because in this season, there's more of Whisper hunting us while we're simultaneously trying to hunt him. And then there's also the love story that continues with both boys — but there's a lot more of her brain and the person she's been brought up to be."
The second season of "Sense8" is expected to be released by Netflix before the end of the year.
