'Reign' season 3 spoilers: Mary to help Catherine stay in power in midseason premiere; Torrance Coombs to leave show

 The CW

The CW has finally ended all speculations about the fate of the historical fantasy romance "Reign" after announcing that all 11 of the network's scripted series will return this fall. But one of the show's lead stars will have to depart from the series at the end of the current season.

Torrance Coombs has been cast to star in the new ABC drama series titled "Still Star-Crossed." Because of this, the actor has to say goodbye to his role as Bash after the season 3 finale.

Coombs will reportedly portray the role of the dashing Count Paris, who is betrothed to marry Juliet. His co-stars in the new series include "Home and Away" star Wade Briggs and newcomer star Ebonée Noel.

But upon the renewal of the show for its fourth season, the actor told his Twitter followers that Bash could still appear on the show from time to time.

At the moment, Coombs confirmed that Bash will appear in the remaining eight episodes of the season.

In the upcoming episode, titled "Succession," Mary (Adelaide Kane) will help save her former mother-in-law Catherine (Megan Follows) from those who want to kick her out of the French Court.

Spoilers claim that Mary will have to move back to her native Scotland after losing all her powers in France when her husband King Francis (Toby Regbo) passed away. But she will reportedly stay in France to ensure that Catherine remains in power.

"I think Catherine could really use Mary's support as another queen and as another female ruler in such an incredibly misogynistic patriarchal time when people are trying to cut Queen Catherine down, but they should know better," Adelaide Kane shared with The Reel Spin in December 2015.

"Reign" season 3 returns to The CW with "Succession" on April 25.
