Real Madrid will play Malmo on Tuesday night in the Champions League and with the Spanish giants already guaranteed a place in the next round they are expected to make a few changes and rest some central players. Real Madrid will rest Gareth Bale for today's game against Malmo. They are already guaranteed top spot in Group A and that should offer them an easier route through the knock out stages of this year's competition.

Real boss Rafael Benitez will also be rotating other members of his squad today, resting players for their big game against Villarreal at the weekend.

Benitez admitted that his team has one eye on the weekend's big game and has said, "This isn't an ordinary match but while we respect Malmo we'll also be thinking ahead to beating Villarreal."

Real are four points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona, and they cannot afford to drop any more points if they are to keep in touch with their Catalan rivals.

However, despite leaving Bale at home they have included Cristiano Ronaldo in their match day squad, and he could feature for a portion of today's game if required. Others who have been left out though include Luka Modric and keeper Keylor Navas.

"We have to try and win with a good performance to keep confidence high," said Benitez. "We've won our last four matches. The mood around the camp won't change if it's not a great match, however, if we do play well and win it will have a positive effect on morale."
