Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) successfully redeemed her reputation when she pinned down the real culprit in the first season of "Quantico." But things are expected to heat up once again as the former FBI agent gets a job offer from the CIA.

In the first season finale, Alex was offered a job at the CIA by Matthew Keyes (Henry Czerny) after she helped in capturing the real terrorist, Liam O'Connor (Josh Hopkins). But while Alex has yet to accept the offer, executive producer Josh Safran said that the season 1 finale episode titled "Yes" could be a hint at Alex's future.

After undergoing the toughest training under FBI's Quantico in season 1, it would be interesting to see how Alex will manage to cope with the demands of her possible new job at the CIA for season 2.

"The FBI teaches honest and trust and finding the truth and protection, and the CIA teaches deception and lying and twisting information to get what you want, what you need," Safran told Entertainment Weekly. "We're definitely interested in juxtaposing those two things and seeing how both sides work separately, and how they work when they're forced to work together."

Aside from a new job, viewers of "Quantico" should also expect a different phasing when the series returns for season 2.

Safran said that the plot for the sophomore season will be slower compared to the first one since Alex was constantly on the run in order to clear her name and capture the real culprit. This will reportedly change next season.

"I'm not going to say what it is, but the nature of the event is slower and unfolding as opposed to explosive," the executive producer shared to TVLine. "This one is one full story, and then one slow thing. It's a cleaner build, that's the best I can say. It will be less confusing."

"Quantico" season 2 is expected to return to ABC this fall.
