Winning a Chicken Dinner in "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG)" may actually become slightly easier now, as the developers have made fixing lag and latency issues one of their priorities.
Due to the overwhelming number of players, which has now reached as much as 30 million in the said competitive multiplayer game, online connectivity issues were bound to happen. This is why Bluehole, the developers of "PUBG," will soon be introducing gradual solutions to one of the most persistent problems of an online game.
They will be doing this following the first patch for the full version of the game on the PC. The said patch fixes map usage issues and added feature tweaks along with some minor connectivity issue fixes. However, as it is right now, there is a lot more work to be done about the connectivity issue. This was acknowledged by the developers in a blog post on Steam with an apology for the inconvenience the game has caused on a lot of players.
Most common issues are lag where the game will momentarily freeze or stutter due to a poor connectivity or server issues regardless of the quality of the users' internet, and the so-called "rubber-banding" where player characters keep getting teleported back to their previous position a few steps away due to server or client readjustment calculations. The latter is caused by new content which was introduced by the game, such as the updated graphics engine and physics system.
Both are equally intrusive and can even cost players a victory in the worst cases. The developers have also stated that there are no primary causes which can lead to the said problems. Instead, they are from a multitude of small problems which require a lot of work to solve.
So far, the developers have removed inefficiencies in server infrastructure with optimizations to the in-game server in order to minimize the problem, though they are not done yet. Rest assured, they have promised to prioritize lag and rubber-banding issues in their future patches.
