As the wait for the "Prison Break" season 5 continues, the writers of the series help fans endure the waiting game by sharing morsels of details about the season and speaking about the chances of season 6 happening.

When asked if the nine episodes in the limited series will be the last ones of the series, the writers expressed their interest to continue Michael Scofield's (Wentworth Miller) story, although they know it will not be up to them.

"We hope not. We did our best to give you a great story. What happens next is up to the audience and Fox," they tweeted out in response.

There is a massive expectation for "Prison Break" season 5 to be amazing, so much that fans are already looking forward to season 6 as if it is already happening.

Based on the enthusiastic response from fans via social media towards the announcement and the trailer release, it looks like many fans will tune in to see what the limited series is all about.

Should it hold up and keep high ratings and viewership (which a riveting plot and a convincing story of Michael's escaping death can do), "Prison Break" season 6 will be a no-brainer. For now, there is no guarantee it will happen, but the hype around it will sure boost its chances.

Meanwhile, the writers also teased what to expect from "Prison Break" season 5. Among other teasers, they said that Lincoln's (Dominic Purcell) life before learning that his brother is alive will be explored.

They also teased that T-Bag (Robert Knepper) will be vital to the story. After all, he is the one who informs Lincoln that his brother is alive. "You'll get to see him quite a bit," the writers teased. FOX shared an image from "Prison Break" season 5 featuring T-Bag in the operating room. There is no explanation on what this is about, but fans speculate that he is getting a new hand as his was cut off by Abruzzi (Peter Stormare) in the original series.

"Prison Break" season 5 has no premiere date yet, but it should air in spring 2017. FOX will base the date will choose on the standing of other shows.
