The augmented reality smartphone game by Niantic, "Pokemon GO," has just received a fix for the recent real-world weather feature.

Upon its initial release, the real-world weather prevented players from accessing the game when the system wrongfully read that the weather conditions were too extreme. Fortunately, Niantic responded to the issue right away through another update that has improved the game's weather sensitivity. 

The real-world weather feature was meant to be some sort of safety feature for players to prevent them from braving harsh weather or environmental conditions just to catch Pokemon. However, in some players' cases, a simple drizzle would activate the preventive measures of the game. With the new update, the developers added a new feature wherein players can declare that they are indeed safe from any environmental harm. 

The update certainly addresses the issue of in-game accessibility, but it is simply a quick fix to the over-arching problem of the real-world weather dynamic. According to Polygon, the game fails to accurately simulate reality's weather in the game. To an extent, the "Extreme" prompt became so incongruent that players took photos of the in-game weather vs. the weather in realiity, which did not match.  

It is without a doubt that Niantic's intentions behind the real-weather system feature came from a good place, in order to prevent their players from braving harsh weather conditions. However, given that the feature is something new in the realm of video games, it may take quite some time to perfect before the general public may be able to utilize it with optimum convenience. 

As of now, virtual Pokemon Trainers have to be vigilant whenever they feel the urge to catch new Pokemon out in the wild, especially since the "Extreme Conditions" prompt can now be easily ignored. Whatever the case may be, it is safe to assume that Niantic will be coming up with innovative ways to improve this service further in the future.
