Hit location-based augmented reality game "Pokémon Go" has recently released an update patch. However, compared to its previous update – which introduced weather and a handful of other game changing additions – this latest one is mostly minimal.

According to Game Spot, here is what the latest patch does: it fixes minor bugs, allows players to sort Pokémon by region. It improves how things are organized while getting rid of the annoying glitches. A more comprehensive list of changes can be found on Niantic's news update post.

The announcement states: Trainers, Pokémon GO is in the process of being updated to version 0.89.1 for Android and 1.59.1 for iOS devices. Details from our development team..." before going on to mention the bugs they got rid of the improvements that were added to the game.

Minor updates aside, an event called Community Day went live last Jan. 20.

Niantic plans to make Community Day a once-a-month event where Pokémon fans in the same area can get together for some fun outdoor activities. It is a great way to meet other people who share the same hobby and passion for Pokémon Go, and not only that, it is also the only day in a month when a certain limited edition Pokémon will be available for capture.

According to Game Spot, this month's limited edition Pokémon will be a Surfing Pikachu. Whether each month will contain different special Pokémon, and whether or not these exclusive Pokémon will be returning in the future have yet to be announced by the developers.

Limited Pikachu aside, the event will also be bringing in other things for players to enjoy. During Community Day, there will be increased experience points, increased stardust, and more lures – a consolation prize of sorts for those who do not manage to bring home the Surfing Pikachu. On the bright side, the event will be happening every month, so players will have a chance to try again.
