Third generation Pokemon are finally going to surface in worldwide mobile game hit, "Pokemon GO." That means players can finally catch starter Pokemon from the Hoenn region like Mudkip, Treecko, and Torchic.
According to a press release from Niantic Labs, creator of the mobile game, "The rest of the Pokemon first seen in the Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire video games will gradually arrive starting as early as December!"
A total of 130 third generation Pokemon will join the game. These Pokemon are from third generation game franchises including "Pokemon Ruby," "Pokemon Sapphire," and "Pokemon Emerald." There are still no mentions of new legendary Pokemon from the Hoenn region surfacing in "Pokemon GO."
The first set of third generation Pokemon will appear in this year's Halloween event. Sableye, Banette, and other ghost-type Pokemon will appear as a short-bonus for players. Players still have their hands full with this year's Halloween event, which started on Oct. 20 and will conclude on Nov. 2.
Pokemon catchers can stumble upon ghost and dark type Pokemon like Gengar, Gastly, and Misdreavus. For every Pokemon they catch, players will receive double candies. There have been hints given out to gamers about more ghost and dark type Pokemon appearing during nighttime.
The creators also urged players to have their "Pokemon GO" AR camera at the ready when they are looking for ghost types. That way, they can take photos of festive images of the game and they can share it on social media with the #PokemonGoHalloween.
The mobile game will also feature new costumes for players' avatars and an adorable witch hat for wild Pikachu.
Long-time "Pokemon GO" enthusiasts have been urging the developers for years to introduce legendary Pokemon like Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. After the Halloween event, players are going to look forward to the Christmas event.
