Sony PlayStation games have had a pretty solid 2017. With titles like "Call of Duty WW2," "The Last of Us Remastered," "Final Fantasy XV" and many others that made it to GamesRadar's top games of 2017 list, many fans are already looking forward to what the gaming world has to offer this coming new year.
Gamers who already own a PlayStation 4 (PS4) or those expecting to be gifted one for Christmas might want to keep an eye out for these games when they hit the shelves in 2018.
"Dragon Ball Fighterz"
The "Dragon Ball" franchise seems to have had a bit of a resurgence in popularity as "Super," the latest installment in the series, has successfully connected with the younger generation of anime lovers despite its status as a classic. This latest installment of the DBZ games hopes to add to that by boasting amazing graphics that would almost make the player think that he is watching the anime rather than playing the game. The characters and the animation are taken straight from the show. It has always been this consistency that has given DBZ games the edge over other anime-based games. "Dragon Ball Fighterz" will be one of the first games to be released in 2018.
"Monster Hunger: World"
This version of "Monster Hunter" is the perfect introduction to console players who have heard of the "Monster Hunter" franchise but has never owned a handheld. The developers absolutely did not hold back when they upgraded the game to match PS4's high graphics capabilities. Everything in the "Monster Hunger" world is big, from monsters to levels and new gear; those who have played the game from the very first installment would consider getting a PS4 for this. "Monster Hunter World" is scheduled for release in January 2018.
"Metal Gear Survive"
Diehard fans of Hideo Kojima's "Metal Gear" series might first want to know that this is the first "Metal Gear" game to be developed since Kojima's departure from Konami in 2015, which probably means this game would be bereft of its former director's masterful storytelling. With FOB multiplayer battles just like the ones in the previous installments (only with item crafting and hordes of the undead), players might want to give this one a try. "Metal Gear Survive" will be released sometime in February 2018.
"Sea of Thieves"
Players will get to unleash their inner Jack Sparrow when "Sea of Thieves" finally makes port on March 2018. In this swashbuckling, booty hunting adventure, gamers will get a first-hand feel of what it's like to sail the seven seas while looting treasure and sinking other players' ships to build a reputation as the most notorious pirate in the seven seas.
"Red Dead Redemption 2"
What's better than a wild west inspired game? When it is an open world wild west inspired game and a sequel to one of Rockstar's most successful games at that. With the developers asking for an extension to work out some of the game details a bit more, players can only wait in anticipation as to what more awesome things they will see from the developers who allowed them to experience life from a gunslinger's point of view. The only thing confirmed so far is a multiplayer coop system to add more dimensions to its gameplay. "Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to come out sometime in spring 2018.
