The dawn of a New Year is once again upon us, which means that the annual "New Year's Rockin' Eve" by Dave Clark Productions is gearing up for a bang of a show in Times Square, New York. Just like the previous events, the year-ender spectacle will be graced by live performances from multiple high-profile artists -- with American song bird Mariah Carey being the headline. 

Carey may be the headliner of the end of the year celebration, but she will be joined by the likes of  Britney Spears, who will be ending her Las Vegas residency soon. Other performers will be Camila Cabello and Nick Jonas. Other notable performers are American country band Sugarland, Florida Georgia Line, DJ and producer Zedd, and Charlie Puth, Kelly Clarkson, Fitz and the Tantrums, and many others.

This year is very important for Carey, after delivering a less than stellar performance at last year's show. Carey even released a joint announcement with Dave Clark Productions, admitting their mistakes in the past -- and it is safe to assume that Carey will be performing this time around with something to prove. 

The lineup is definitely stacked, which is unsurprising at this point, and is considered by some to be one of the most star-studded lineups in the history of "New Year's Rockin' Eve." Former "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest will be hosting the event once more, which is an occupation he inherited right after Dick Clark himself retired from the yearly gig. Ever since, Seacrest has religiously committed to the tradition of waiting for the New York ball to drop. 

Seacrest will not be alone in hosting the show. Jenny McCarthy will be co-hosting the event with Seacrest, which is something she has done in the past. Ciara will take on hosting duties from Los Angeles, while Lucy Hale will be hosting in New Orleans. 

The "New Year's Rockin' Eve" celebration starts on Sunday, Dec. 31, at 8:00 pm EST on ABC.
