The Shelby family will tread unfamiliar waters as they face their fate and a new threat in the fourth season of "Peaky Blinders."
The trailer for the upcoming season has Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, saying that they're going back to the beginning — to how it all started. The trailer also teases comeuppance for several of its characters who might find themselves in precarious situations.
As of press time, no concrete plot details have been released concerning season 4 of the British gangster series aside from a time jump six months after the authorities caught every gang member of the Shelby family.
Nevertheless, in an interview with ODE, Cillian Murphy had good things to say about the upcoming installment, "I think season 4 will be the best it's been. I'm very excited... Yeah, I think people will be in for a lot of surprises."
In other news, the show will be welcoming Academy Award winner Adrien Brody. The actor is set to join the cast in an undisclosed role. Executive producer Steven Knight only hinted small details about Brody's character, saying that the actor will play an Italian-American gang leader who will pose as the biggest threat to the Shelby gang.
It can be remembered that in the third season of "Peaky Blinders," Tommy almost killed Alfie (Tom Hardy) he placed Tommy's son in a life-threatening danger. Prior to this, Alfie continuously worked for and against the Shelby family and placed them in danger countless times.
If the trailer and spoilers hold up, the Shelbys might have to once again gear up for a new opponent.
There's no official confirmation yet on when season 4 will air on BBC Two in the United Kingdom and stream on Netflix for its U.S. audience. However, the premiere date is expected to be sometime in November.
