Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) will go back to basics when "Once Upon a Time" returns to ABC for season 6 this fall.

In an interview with TVLine, series co-creator Eddy Kitsis said that Emma will return to her helpful self.

"What you'll be seeing is our characters wanting to help," Kitsis said. "And we see Emma back in the position where she's a Savior trying to to help people find their happiness."

This means that the fans of the series will see the old school Emma as she fulfills her Savior duties in Storybrooke.

"It's really Emma and the Yellow Bug, riding around helping people," the series co-creator added, "which is what we wanted to come back to this year."

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly revealed that "Supergirl" cast member Faran Tahir has been tapped to play the role of Captain Nemo in the sixth season of "Once Upon a Time."

The famous character, known as the tough Nautilus submarine leader from Disney Film's "2,000 Leagues Under the Sea" movie, will shed light on Hook's (Colin O'Donohue) past.

"We're excited to see his mythology merge with Storybrooke's own captain — Hook [Colin O'Donohue]. If for no other reason than to see the Jolly Roger go up against a submarine," series co-creator Adam Horowitz said.

Aside from Tahir, the series will also introduce other new characters such as Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz), Princess Jasmine (Karen David), Jafar (Oded Fehr), Morpheus (Giles Matthey), and the Count of Monte Cristo (Craig Horner).

Storybrooke's famed therapist Archie Hopper/Jiminy Cricket (Raphael Sbarge) will also return for the upcoming season. This could mean that one of the town's heroes could need a session or two with the doctor.

ABC will air the premiere episode of "Once Upon a Time" season 6 on Sept. 25.
