The Storybrooke heroes will inspect a crash site based on the first set of photos of the premiere episode of "Once Upon a Time" season 6.

Based on the photos released by TVLine, Emma (Jennifer Morrison), Regina (Lana Parilla), Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), and the others will look into the wreckage of the aircraft that landed in the forest of Storybrooke from The Land of the Untold Stories.

The heroes will also see the mystical town's resident psychiatrist, Dr. Archie Hopper (Raphael Sbarge), and his dog, Pongo. But the reason why he is roaming alone in the woods with two cups of coffee in hand remains a mystery.

Meanwhile, series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis revealed to TVLine in a separate interview that Emma will step up to be the Savior again to help the characters from The Land of the Untold Stories after their tales suddenly resumed.

"Whereas the Dark Curse gave you no choice, these people chose to pause their lives, for different reasons — out of fear, out of not wanting to face something," Kitsis said. But with that control over their status now yanked from them, "We see Emma back in the position where she's a Savior trying to help people find their happiness."

Aside from the return of Dr. Hopper, the sixth season of "Once Upon a Time" will introduce a lot of new characters, including Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz), Jafar (Oded Fehr), Princess Jasmine (Karen David), Morpheus (Giles Matthey), Captain Nemo (Faran Tahir), Emir (Tarum Keram), Dr. Arthur Lydgate (Jonny Coyne), and the Count of Monte Cristo (Craig Homer).

"We're going to be telling stories from other lands and other pieces of fiction," Kitsis told TVGuide. "For us, it's really fun to expand the universe of Once Upon a Time."

ABC will release the premiere episode of "Once Upon a Time" season 6 on Sunday, Sept. 25.
