Last week, it was announced that the open-world action role-playing game "NieR: Automata" is getting a new downloadable content (DLC) coming in the first week of May. The release date of the DLC was initially for Japan, but reports this week confirm that it will also include the launch in the West.
Francis Santos, product lead for Square Enix, announced on the PlayStation blog on Monday that the new DLC for "NieR: Automata" is going to be released on May 2 in Japan, without any word regarding its global release. It seems that fans in the West will not have to wait for long, as the DLC is also expected to be launched in Europe and North America on the same date.
Referred to as "3C3C1D119440927," the new content is expected to bring in new costumes for Androids 2B, 9S, and A2, as well as rewards from completing three new colosseums to challenge and some sub-quests.
Based on the information shared, a "revealing outfit" is coming for 2B, a "young man's outfit" is coming for 9S, and a "destroyer's outfit" is coming for A2. Fans who have played "NieR: Replica" will be familiar with these new threads as the costumes are inspired by the game's predecessor.
Fans will also get other rewards from the game, such as new accessories and other items. For example, players can get a new cosmetic accessory in the form of hair spray, which will allow them to change the hair colors of 2B and A2. They can also get a new mask that has "on equip" effects.
In addition, players may acquire new special bullets that have the capability to change the looks of the enemy's bullets. They can also record special music tracks to their jukebox or challenge Yosuke Matsuda from Square Enix.
The new DLC is going to be sold for 1,500 yen or about $14.
"NieR: Automata" was released in February in Japan and a month later in the rest of the world. The game is currently playable for PC and PlayStation 4 platforms.
