If City fail to finish top of their group they risk being drawn against one of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Barcelona, with all of those teams currently topping their groups.

However, the chances of City being able to sneak into top spot today are slim. Juventus are top of Group D coming into this week's final round of group games, with 11 points from their five games so far.

City are second with 9 points from the same number of games. As Juventus has a better head to head record against City then they just need a draw in their game today against Sevilla to ensure they finish top of the group.

But if Juventus fail to win then it leaves the door open for City to snatch the top spot from them, but City will need to gain all three points today against the German team.

"It is important for us to do our task, to win the game and then see what happens with Juventus," City manager Pellegrini said. "The most important thing is to qualify, but once you have done that you have to finish at the top, so there are not too many players to rest, maybe one or two."
