American singer and pop star, Katy Perry, was recently involved in a legal battle that involved her desire to acquire a patch of land which included a convent in Los Feliz. The conflict began when a businesswoman named Dana Hollister tried to stop Perry from purchasing the property. The conflict may now be concluded, with Hollister having to pay Perry a huge sum of money.

In a report by Vanity Fair, Hollister tried to stop Perry from acquiring the estate because she wanted it for her self and she allegedly waited a very long time for it to become available, only to butt heads with Perry for it eventually. On Nov. 18, Friday, the jury deemed that the Los Feliz property should rightfully go to Perry, with Hollister having to pay $1.57 million to Perry, and $3.47 million more to the archdiocese of Los Angeles.

However, Hollister will not be giving up this battle and has threatened to take the matter up with the esteemed priests of the Vatican itself. Hollister told The Hollywood Reporter that she will be using her power to gain the assistance of Pope Francis himself. It appears that Hollister has some leverage as well, claiming to have offered $30 million for the Earle C. Anthony house, which Hollister plans to turn into a profitable business venture.

It seems that both Perry and Hollister will have to bust out their war chests for the coveted property, and there are currently no signs of either party backing down. According to Billboard, Perry previously agreed to pay the L.A. Archdiocese approved amount of $14.5 million for the property. Despite the matter being agreed upon three years ago, the L.A. Archdiocese will still need the approval of the Vatican before the sale can be finalized.

The matter will further be investigated next month, and if Hollister truly does have some connections in the Vatican, Perry might lose the Los Feliz property for good.
