Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx have been mostly private about their relationship, but that has not stopped tabloids from circulating rumors that the two have broken up. Even though the website Gossip Cop has tried to debunk the rumors, it seems that the only way to know for sure is for one or both actors to confirm their breakup themselves.

According to a report by In Touch, Holmes found texts exchanged between Foxx and Kristin Grannis, the mother of Foxx's nine-year-old daughter. Foxx and Grannis were also reportedly seen having a meal together in Los Angeles, days after Foxx spent Valentine's Day with Holmes. A "source" told In Touch that Foxx denied the allegations, but that he also admitted to still being in love with Grannis in his texts.

On Feb. 16, Foxx also walked out of an interview with ESPN after he was asked about Holmes, fueling speculations that his relationship with the former "Dawson's Creek" actress was on the rocks.

Holmes and Foxx reportedly kept their relationship under wraps for quite some time due to a clause in Holmes's divorce from ex-husband Tom Cruise. Reports say that when Holmes divorced Cruise, she agreed not to date publicly for five years in exchange for $5.8 million in child support for daughter Suri Cruise as well as $6.2 million for Holmes herself.

Although rumors that Holmes and Foxx were dating began in 2013, the pair have repeatedly denied them. In 2017, shortly after Holmes's divorce from Cruise hit the five-year mark, she and Foxx were photographed together in Miami. However, both Holmes and Foxx have remained private about their relationship, just as Holmes and Cruise were private about the details of their divorce.

Gossip Cop, a website that fact-checks celebrity news, has published reports denying rumors that Holmes and Foxx were breaking up and that Foxx had been unfaithful. In one piece, Gossip Cop claimed to have spoken to an unnamed but supposedly reliable "source" who denied Holmes and Foxx's breakup.

In another piece, Gossip Cop also claims to have spoken to another anonymous "source" that claimed that Foxx was merely friends with Grannis for the sake of their daughter.

However, both the tabloids as well as Gossip Cop claim knowledge of Holmes and Foxx's situation based on information from anonymous sources, which is hardly reliable. It seems that if Holmes and Foxx have indeed broken up, they are keeping it private — just like how they kept the relationship itself.
