Justin Bieber goes to Hillsong Church with mom, Pattie Malette

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber is trying his best to turn over a new leaf, and as part of that push he is taking his church attendance seriously - so much so that he even brought his mother, Pattie Mallette, along with him during a recent Hillsong Wednesday service.

The two were spotted at Hillsong Church in Beverly Hills. Bieber had on a bright neon yellow hoodie, brown slacks and trainers. His mother, on the other hand, had to attend church in a wheelchurch. When they came out afterwards, Bieber appeared in a very good mood, laughing and smiling.

Bieber and his mom have recently gotten closer again, after a number of years where he seemed to grow a bit more distant from her. Now many see their going to church together as a good step in their journey towards uniting more and healing together. The pair also enjoyed a trip to Maldives earlier this January, and even though Mallette broke her foot on the first day of their vacation, she still managed to have a blast.

On her Instagram account (@pattiemallette), the singer's mother posted a sweet photo of the two of them together in a boat. She then credited Bieber's Christianity as the reason he has become a better person.

"I'm so proud of the amazing young man you are, and the young man you are becoming. None of us are perfect and never will be, (so we will always need patience and grace for each other), but your genuine growing relationship with Jesus is evident in the choices you are making daily and the good 'fruit' you bear," she wrote.

"I admire your character and integrity. You are maturing beautifully and wise beyond your years. You are so funny that I find myself laughing out loud when I'm alone, remembering of something you said or did. And your heart is gold. I love you to the moon and back."
