All hopes about Dr. Ian Malcolm's return to the "Jurassic World" franchise is gone after Jeff Goldblum revealed that he already closed his door for the film series.

In an interview with The Graham Norton Show Friday night to promote his upcoming film "Independence Day: Resurgence," the actor admitted that he was invited to reprise his role from the 1993 blockbuster film "Jurassic Park" and its sequel "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" in the 2015 reboot and its upcoming sequel. However, Goldblum claimed that he is already done with the film.

"Yes. I was available," the actor said when asked if he had time to spare to join in the 'Jurassic Park' reboot as reported by Metro UK. "But had a big satisfying meal with being in two of them," the actor added.

This confirmed his statement to Fandango during April's CinemaCon, saying that the Colin Trevorrow-directed film did well without him, which is why he has no intensions of coming back.

"My door is not always open -- I took the door off. I removed the hinges from the door. I'm too open. I'm like a chicken piccata. What was I about to say? Oh yes, the two [Jurassic] movies I did with them were plenty. If I never did anything more, I'd certainly be well satisfied," the actor said.

At the moment, the only original cast member who joined the reboot from the 1993 film is actor B.D. Wong. He will continue playing his role as Dr. Henry Wu for the upcoming "Jurassic World 2" movie alongside Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, and Ty Simpkins as Gray Mitchell.

The upcoming "Jurassic World 2" will be helmed by Juan Antonio Bayona, while Trevorrow will still be involved in the project, alongsidethe film's new screenplay writer Derek Connolly. The movie is expected to come out on June 22, 2018.
