"Jurassic World" star Chris Pratt has recently teased fans that the film's sequel will be a darker and scarier compared to its predecessor.

At a press junket for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," which Pratt is also part of, he was asked by Screen Rant about "Jurassic World 2." While the actor did not divulge any plot details about the film, he was willing to describe the tone of the movie.

He said, "I think it's going to be a scarier version. A little bit darker and will continue to expand and carry the story forward in a way that is really unexpected and you wouldn't have imagined."

In "Jurassic World," viewers discovered that the dinosaurs in the park are being trained as living weapons. A such, it is likely that the sequel will continue this storyline.

For his part, "Jurassic World 2" director JA Bayona said in an interview with International Business Times that the film will serve as a tribute to "Jurassic Park," while exploring new paths.

"We are going to places where the saga has never been before and at the same time we are paying tribute to the franchise," he said. "We will take it a step further. There are things that will happen that people are not expecting and they really are shocking," he added.

Meanwhile, Colin Trevorrow, who wrote and directed "Jurassic World" and who serves as executive producer of its sequel, teased fans with a photo posted on his Twitter account of some eggs in an incubator. This photo recalls a scene in the original "Jurassic Park" film when Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) witnessed the hatching of a velociraptor egg.

Pratt will reprise his role as Owen Grady, a researcher and velociraptor trainer, in "Jurassic World 2." He will again be joined by Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing and B.D. Wong as Dr. Henry Wu.

The film is set to be released on June 22, 2018.
