J.J. Abrams says next 'Star Wars' film may feature gay characters; Hollywood accused of misrepresenting homosexuals

If Director J.J. Abrams would have his way, there would definitely be some gay characters featured in the next "Star Wars" movie.

This was what Abrams revealed when he was asked by The Daily Beast if it's possible for homosexual characters to exist in the galaxy far, far away.

"When I talk about inclusivity it's not excluding gay characters. It's about inclusivity. So of course," he said, adding that he would "love it" if they showcase a gay relationship in the eighth installment of the franchise.

"To me, the fun of 'Star Wars' is the glory of possibility. So it seems insanely narrow-minded and counterintuitive to say that there wouldn't be a homosexual character in that world," he said.

In fact, a lot of fans are already suspecting a homosexual attraction between John Boyega's Finn and Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

The two first met when Poe was captured by Stormtroopers and Finn, after suffering from a crisis of conscience, helped him escape. When they crash landed on a desert planet, Finn was in great despair when he was unable to spot Poe.

Isaac said those suspicions are not unfounded since a romantic attraction with Finn is what he was ultimately going for. "You have to watch it a few times to catch all the little hints. But there was. At least I was playing romance. In the cockpit I was playing... there was a deep romance," Isaac teased when he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

The proliferation of pro-gay movies has upset Media Research Center Vice President Dan Gainor because he believes Hollywood is misrepresenting homosexuals.

"They are presented as far more common than they are in reality," he told Life Site News. "Hollywood is mass marketing propaganda. If it isn't environmental and anti-American propaganda in 'Avatar,' it's sexual propaganda. There are a lot of gays in Hollywood. But it doesn't mean that the rest of America is like that."
