The public beta 4 version of the iOS 11.3 is now available for download, as Apple looks to be on its way to release the final version of the latest iOS update. The features included in the public beta 4 are the same as those in the developer beta, like the new ARKit improvements. Although, the highlights of this update are the new battery health features and Animoji characters.
An updated ARKit tool, as well as a handful of bug fixes and stability improvements, has always been expected in every iOS beta release. However, the public beta 4 has something that the users will find very important, especially after Apple intentionally added battery performance throttling in older devices. One of the new iOS 11.3 features is the new Battery Health menu, which can found under the Battery tab. The menu page has the Maximum Capacity section, wherein users can see how much of the original charge the battery can still contain. There is also the Peak Performance Capacity section, which shows if the battery is already causing performance throttling.
Another interesting part of the iOS 11.3 public beta 4 is the brand-new set of Animoji characters. Users have been enjoying the Animoji feature since the iOS 11 was first introduced last year, although the iOS 11.3 update will be the first to add more Animoji characters. Some of the confirmed new Animojis from the public beta 4 are a lion, a bear, a dragon, and a skull, making the current total of Animoji characters up to 16.
The latest public beta version of the iOS 11.3 was released just two weeks after the beta 3 became available on Feb. 20. According to the patch notes, the public beta 3 includes mostly stability improvements and bug fixes. It looks like there is more to look forward to in public beta 4, although the beta testers have just begun to explore the latest update.
The iOS 11.3 features can now be tested by developers and public beta testers with valid configuration profile. To download the beta 4 update, go to General in the Settings app, then choose Software Update to initiate the installation process.
