Huawei is reportedly unveiling three variants of its upcoming smartphone flagship, the Huawei P20. The Shenzhen-based tech firm has not yet specified the specs and design features of these P20 smartphones, but the recent leaks reveal the characteristics that set apart the P20 Lite, P20 Pro and the regular P20 variant.
The ever-reliable tech tipster, Evan Blass, has recently shared a set of leaked images of the upcoming Huawei P20, P20 Pro and P20 Lite devices. Unlike the previous leaks for the P10 successor, Blass's latest post clearly shows the front and rear portions of the P20 variants in high resolution. For starters, the leaked P20 renders reveal that the Huawei P20, P20 Pro and P20 Lite will sport slimmer bezels. Unfortunately, the bottom bezel is not as razor-thin as the other sides, although its size is noticeably reduced.
Another common feature among the three Huawei P20 variants is the iPhone X-like notch on the top display, which contains the front-facing dual-lens camera sensor. Speaking of the camera, it has long been rumored that the next Huawei P series flagship would be the first handset to sport a triple-lens camera build. Based on Blass's leak, only one of the Huawei P20 variants will receive Leica's triple-lens rear camera, the P20 Pro. The regular P20 and P20 will have the usual dual camera at the rear. It is believed that this extra image sensor for the Huawei P20 will be in charge of optimal zoom enhancement or wider angle view, similar to the camera feature of the iPhone X and iPhone 8 Plus.
The leaks also show that the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will have a front-mounted fingerprint sensor, which is embedded in an oval button just below the screen panel. Only the Huawei P20 Lite will have the fingerprint reader at the rear side, just below the camera module.
Huawei already released the promo trailer for the P20 smartphones, inviting the public to tune in to the company's launch event on March 27th.
