It looks like one of Huawei's bestsellers, the P9, is set to be replaced with a new model rumored to be named as the Huawei P10 or P10 Plus. Several days back, the first images of the rumored smartphone emerged, with no information given other than the claim that it showed the prototype device. And now, there's another leaked photo of the same phone that emerged from a Chinese microblogging site.
The photo came from Weibo, a website that is slowly building a reputation as the primary source of leaks, be it images or information about the latest mobile device offerings from Chinese-based brands, including Huawei. Based on what seems to appear in the leaked photo, the Huawei P10 or P10 Plus will be equipped with a fingerprint scanner situated on the back.
Although the fingerprint scanner feature is no longer a stranger to Huawei's lineup, the shape of the scanner is notably different to that of the Huawei P9, GSMArena noted. The publication further observed that the LED flash underwent an aesthetic improvement as well, and without the two differences, the upcoming device will look very similar in all aspects to its predecessor.
Unfortunately, there still are no details as to what could be inside the device, although projecting a 5.5-inch screen with QHD touchscreen display is never a stretch, especially considering how Huawei values this P line of devices. And since it's Huawei, it shouldn't be a surprise if the P10 or P10 Plus will be powered by the Kirin 960 chipset, coupled with at least 6 GB of random access memory (RAM). Internal storage is most likely within the 128 GB to 256 GB range.
With the success of the Huawei P9 earlier in the year, the Chinese company is bent on cashing in on this particular lineup of smartphones. There is no doubt that the upcoming Huawei P10 or P10 Plus will again lure in a lot of interest from consumers who want to try an alternative to mainstream brands.
