June Hunt, founder of the worldwide biblical counseling ministry Hope For The Heart, says that new stresses come with each new season in life.

"As the seasons change, so do our lives," she writes for The Christian Post. "With each changing stage of life and each passing year, we face new stressors. They come in all forms. Some are small and easily manageable, while others can be quite large. From adjusting to new routines, to illnesses and accidents, stress plays a predominant role in our lives."

Hunt adds that everybody will experience stress one way or another — but the only difference is how people respond to it. Some will use their stress to motivate them, while others will allow stress to paralyse them. For those falling on the latter category, Hunt wants them to know that help, hope and rest are available with the help of Jesus Christ.

She then shares five of the promises made by God regarding stress.

The first is that He will guide people through all of their problems. The Bible verse Psalm 32:8 assures Christians: "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."

The second promise of God is that He will strengthen His children. Isaiah 40:29 reads: "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."

Next, God promises to give Christians peace, and He said so in John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

The fourth promise God made is that He will give Christians rest. In Matthew 11:28, He invites people to "come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Lastly, God will be with His people all the time. Deuteronomy 31:8 says so: "The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged."
