"Girl Meets World" season 4 is still in limbo with Disney Channel still mum about the show's fate, and season 3 already chomping into the closing episodes for the season.
When asked last July about a renewal, a representative of the network said Disney is not in active discussions about season 4 as the current season will cover up to early 2017.
However, the show is not used to being renewed late, so Disney's silence does not bode well for the cast and crew, who have also been hinting the show's end.
Just recently, August Maturo, who plays Auggie in the series, said that he is "not ready for Goodbye," when the writers tweeted about the titles of the remaining season 3 episodes, with the finale titled "Goodbye."
Lead star Rowan Blanchard has not been shy in expressing her doubts about "Girl Meets World" season 4 ever happening. She first hinted of the show's cancellation when season 3 production wrapped up in July.
Two months after that, the actress said that she is yet to get word about "Girl Meets World" season 4. "I know as much as you do," Blanchard told She Knows.
"We are hoping for a season 4, obviously, because we want to continue our story, and I feel like it's an important story to tell," she went on to say.
Fans have also prepared for the worst case scenario by affixing their signature in an online petition for the renewal of the "Boy Meets World" spinoff and also having it moved to Freeform, which will allow mature themes to tackle and a longer lifespan altogether.
There are only six episodes left in "Girl Meets World" season 3. The next one will be aired after the show's three-week hiatus.
With no assurance of a "Girl Meets World" season 4 renewal, it looks like fans will have to savor Riley (Blanchard) and the gang's adventures while they last.
