The opening credits for "Girl Meets World" season 3 were recently unveiled, and they pay tribute to the original "Boy Meets World" series.
The opening credits, featuring the song "Take On the World" from the first two seasons of the series, were directed by "Boy Meets World" lead star Ben Savage. They include familiar scenes such as the popcorn throwing and water bucket pranks. Savage, who is popular for portraying the role of Cory Matthews, also appears in the spin-off series.
But the new title sequence is noticeably hinting at the long-running love triangle involving lead character Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and her best friends Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lucas (Peyton Meyer).
Back in March, series creator Michael Jacobs confirmed to The Wrap that the series will wrap up the love triangle in season 3.
"It will span probably a third to a half of Season 3," Jacobs stated. "Not as primary focus, but always as an underlying thing in existence for the characters."
Aside from the love triangle, Riley and her friends will also deal with the challenging transition from middle school to high school. However, Jacob noted that they will still keep in mind that their demographic includes viewers as young as 6 years old since the show airs on Disney Channel.
"What we will do is honestly show you within the parameters of what I think and what the staff thinks is correct. Lovely episodes, which will touch on all the same subjects that 'Boy Meets World' did," the series creator said.
"Girl Meets World" season 3 will begin with a special two-part premiere. The first will air on June 3, and the second will air on June 5.
The series will also feature the return of Danielle Fishel as Riley's mother Topanga and Corey Fogelmanis as Riley's friend Farkle Minkus.
