Very little has been reported about the announced "Frozen" sequel, and as a result, rumors about the film's plot have started circulating online. While fans are eagerly awaiting more details about the sequel, several theories have come up about the story. The most recent one involves a new villain coming to Arendelle.

According to Parent Herald, Elsa will have a new enemy, and Arendelle's queen will reportedly be facing off against a female villain. While this has yet to be confirmed by Disney, a strong female antagonist for Elsa could be interesting as the studio continues to go into its new age of storytelling. In the first film, the story went against the traditional Disney storyline wherein a prince would come to rescue the princess — instead, Elsa's sister, Princess Anna, took it upon herself to find her sister to save their kingdom. And when Anna was in jeopardy, it was the love of her sister that saved her from being frozen forever.

Another persistent rumor claims that in the upcoming film, Anna will also have powers, but they will be the opposite of her sister's. Whereas Elsa has the power of ice and snow, theories claim that Anna will have the power of fire. This could mean that the sisters would clash again.

It is also speculated that Prince Hans, humbled and a lot nicer after what he did in the first movie, will return to woo Elsa. Meanwhile, Olaf is also rumored to have a love interest in the upcoming film, but it is unknown whether the object of his affection is a human girl or a snow girl.

Regardless of what the story will be, director Chris Buck told MTV that they will continue to tell more stories about Elsa and Anna.

"We have very strong female leads in 'Frozen,'" Buck said. "We will keep that going in the next one. We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with."
