The "Friday the 13th" game based on the movie with the same title has been out for a while now, but it has only every supported online play. With the new update, players can play with artificial intelligence (AI) bots, gain a higher level, and with the holiday season already here, experience the new holiday event.

The game has been out for a while now and a big number of fans have been asking for an offline mode of the game as it has usually only supported online play. IllFonic, the developers of the game, acknowledged this request and realized that it may just be important. Players, especially first-timers, would undoubtedly want to familiarize themselves with the map and or Jason's abilities as well.

IllFonic originally made the game to emphasize on teamwork. Players need to work together to get out of the camp where Jason, who is also controlled by a player, is in before he kills all of the counselor players. Everyone has a microphone to be able to easily talk to each other. Jason also has one allowing him to hear whatever plans the counselor make.

There are 12 counselors in total, with only four unlocked at level 1. More and more counselors are unlocked until reaching level 100. With the update, that has been maxed to 150 with new items, kills, and skins/clothes for Jason and the counselors being unlockable in between the previous and new level cap.

As for the holiday event, there are multiple mini events or bonuses. From Dec. 18 to 23, there is a higher chance of getting a Rare and Epic perk. From Dec. 23 to 27, both Pamela and Jarvis tapes will be easier to understand. Finally, from Dec. 23 to Jan. 2, players can earn double CP from all sources except the ones gained from leveling up.

The patch notes can be read on the game's website. The update is already out for Steam and PlayStation 4 users while Xbox One users will have to wait a bit longer.
