Franklin Graham says discovery of new planet in solar system a huge surprise to people, but not to God

Reverend Franklin Graham is just as excited as everybody else to learn that scientists have apparently discovered a new planet in the solar system, but the discovery has also made him feel humble about God's infinite wisdom and wonder.

"There's a lot of excitement about researchers announcing that they think they might've discovered a ninth planet out there in our solar system that is about 10 times as large as Earth and is about 20 times farther from the sun," he shares on his Facebook page. "This may be a huge surprise to us, but if there is another planet out there, it comes as no surprise to God. If it's there, He made it."

He then shares two Bible verses that he feels best describe his wonder. The first is John 1:3 which says, "Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made." The second verse is from Psalm 19:1, and it reads: "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands."

Graham has grown up marvelling God's many wonderful creations, and now that he is 63 years old, the president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and of Samaritan's Purse says that he will never stop being amazed by God's abilities.

"When time as we know it comes to an end, mankind will still be uncovering new things they didn't know about His intricate, immense, and awesome handiwork," reflects Graham. "No matter how old I get, I never cease to be amazed at God's creation."

One of the things Graham loves best about God's handiwork is snow, although he knows how difficult it can get for some people.

"I've always loved a good snow storm. There's something about getting snowed in with a fire in the fireplace — my mother used to love it," he shares.

But since the Blizzard of 2016 is "wreaking havoc for millions of people," Graham is praying that the people who have no heat or are out and stuck in the freezing weather would find comfort and relief soon.
