Feeling unmotivated? Here are 10 Bible verses about God's purpose for your life

It can be easy to forget that your life has God-given purpose, especially in the midst of mundane everyday life. The world would have us find our 'purpose' in our work or our success, but God's purpose for us is quite different. Rather than focusing on achievements, he is much more interested in our well-being and relationship with him. This is our purpose – to worship and know God. From that place, he gives our life purpose, enabling us to partner with him in the work he has for us.

Here are 10 Bible verses to encourage you about God's purpose for your life:

1. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28).

2. "He has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace" (2 Timothy 1:9).

3. "The Lord will fulfil his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands"(Psalm 138:8).

4. "But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth" (Exodus 9:16).

5. "Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails" (Proverbs 19:21).

6. "Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose" (Philippians 2:12-13).

7. "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you" (Matthew 6:33).

8. "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:19-20).

9. "I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me" (Psalm 57:2).

10. "So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God" (1 Corinthians 10:31).
