Ubisoft announced on its blog Thursday that three of its upcoming games, "Far Cry 5," "The Crew 2," and an unannounced game, are coming out later than their original release dates.

"Far Cry 5," which was supposed to hit the shelves on Feb. 27, 2018, will now arrive on March 27, while "The Crew 2," which was slated for March 16, is now launching on the first half of fiscal 2018-2019. The mystery game, on the other hand, has been pushed back to the company's 2019-2020 fiscal year instead of 2018-2019.

Ubisoft revealed in a press release that the decision to delay both titles was influenced by the success of "Assassin's Creed Origins," which also previously suffered from a delay. The company's worldwide studios executive director, Christine Burgess-Quemard, explained that by taking more time with the game, the development team was able to fully express their vision.

"As expected, this had a very positive impact on the game's quality and largely participated to its commercial success," she explained. "Taking a similar approach, we have decided to invest additional development time in three upcoming games."

The team behind "The Crew 2" echoed Burgress-Quemard's explanation, detailing on the game's website that the new release window will allow them to deliver an experience that fulfills both the team and the fans' quality expectations.

"In this light, we will also use the extra time to continue running test phases and allow as many of you as possible to get hands-on with the game," they added.

"Far Cry 5" does not have a message of its own, but Ubisoft said in a brief blog post that the extra time will be used to make additional enhancements that would bring the "best" and "most ambitious Far Cry experience."

Both "Far Cry 5" and "The Crew 2" will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One X, and PC.
