After Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler departed from "Dance Moms" before the filming of season 7 commences, their mother, Melissa Gisoni, talked about why her daughters decided to call it quits.
According to Gisoni, her kids were the ones who decided to part with the show where they have appeared for the past six years.
"My kids told me they didn't want to do it anymore. When my kids aren't happy anymore, I don't care about anything else," the Zieglers' mother told Cosmopolitan.
Gisoni also explained that their contract with the show prevented her daughters from exploring more options outside the dance reality series. She said that Maddie had to refuse several jobs because of it. That is why they decided that it was already time for them to step out of the show.
After quitting "Dance Moms," Maddie was cast in two movies, "The Book of Henry" and an upcoming animated film. But while the kids were very happy with the decision, Gisoni admitted that both Maddie and Mackenzie are constantly thinking about their friends from the show.
"They miss the girls but they don't miss the drama," she said.
Meanwhile, speculations are rife regarding the rumored exit of Nia Sioux in "Dance Moms" season 7.
According to reports, the 14-year-old dancer has been cast in a Broadway musical titled "Trip of Love."
It has been revealed that Nia will perform specialty dance solos in the musical, including "Moon River," "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" and "Wipe Out."
While Nia has yet to confirm the rumors about her departure, her statement after the casting news came out further intensified the speculations.
"This is truly a dream come true. I can't wait to move to NY with my mom [Holly Frazier] this month and then hit the stage in July! This is going to be the best summer ever!"
If Nia will have to move out to New York, this means that she will have a hard time shooting her scenes for the upcoming season of "Dance Moms," which is set to premiere in 2017.
