While the Dallas Cowboys are not closing their doors on the possibility of a trade that will up the team in the first round of the 2017 National Football League (NFL) Draft, it is not really a priority for the team as they are currently content with the roster of players they have.

According to reports, Dallas Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones has recently spoken in a recent radio interview where he revealed what type of players his team is looking for to beef up the Dallas Cowboys. Nonetheless, Jones revealed that he is satisfied with the current roster of Dallas Cowboys and trading for them is unnecessary at this point.

"I think this year it's tougher than ever, because I do think there's great depth in this draft at positions of need for us. To give up one of those guys for a player, to give up two for one, is a tough deal for us. I would never rule it out, but at the same time, I don't necessarily say it's likely, especially with our first-round pick," Jones said in a radio interview.

Reportedly, if offense were the focus of the Dallas Cowboys in this season of the NFL, trading would be imperative. However, as the focus of the Dallas Cowboys for this 2017 season is defense, which can be successfully delivered by, at least, three of its existing players, namely Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Dez Bryant, trading may not be needed now.

Because of the Dallas Cowboys' impressive game last season, reports claim they are one of the most favored teams to win the 2017 NFL season. With their 13–3 record in the previous season, many thought that they would end up as the champion. However, luck was not on their side as they lost to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers during the 2016 NFL Divisional Round.
