Christian U.S. government worker willing to lose job for refusing to watch video on homosexuality

Christian worker David Hall has been employed in the information technology office of the Social Security Administration of the U.S. government for the past 14 years. He is, however, at risk of losing his federal employment, just because he stood up for his Christian faith and refused to watch a 17-minute video on homosexuality as instructed by his office.

In a report by The Chicago Tribune, Hall shared that the administration's national office sent out an email memo last July requiring employees to watch the video on diversity in the workplace and how to be more "inclusive" with homosexuals.

Hall, however, refused to follow the memo, saying he believes it is against God's will and Christian teachings to watch the video which, he said, endorses "an abomination." He added that watching the video on gay employees will be equivalent to certifying sin.

The U.S. federal government employee also asserted his right to religious freedom, which is protected by the Constitution. Although he has homosexual friends, Hall said he cannot tolerate homosexual practices and just be "sorta Christian," in the same manner that a woman cannot be just "sorta pregnant."

"This is something I want to fight and expose, to give other Christians the courage of their convictions," Hall said in a statement, as quoted by Life Site News.

Because of his insistence not to watch the controversial video, Hall was reprimanded, then suspended for two days without pay. Still, the federal employee said he is willing to lose his job since he cannot compromise his Christian beliefs.

Peter LaBarbera, Americans for Truth president, described Hall as a "hero" who refuses to give in to LGBT "propaganda."

"He is absolutely correct: LGBT 'diversity' sessions and films are NOT truly 'diverse' because they disrespect or ignore faith-based and moral opposition to homosexualism and transsexualism," LaBarbera told Life Site News.

In the UK, gender equality conversations often focus on pay gaps or female representation in leadership, but in Nepal the struggle is far more basic. It is whether a girl can go to school, whether a woman can seek medical care without permission from her husband, and whether she can live in her own home without fear.
